ERASMUS+ at St. Ignatius of Loyola College

St. Ignatius of Loyola College (ILK) has participated in the Erasmus+ Programme since 2013, providing opportunities for students and staff to gain international academic and professional experience.

ILK holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the 2021–2027 Erasmus+ Programme period and is committed to the principles of equal opportunities, inclusion, non-discrimination, transparency, environmental sustainability and digitalisation.

St. Ignatius of Loyola College welcomes Erasmus+ students from partner institutions for study and traineeship mobility in Lithuania.

INCOMING ERASMUS+ STUDENTS

Who can apply?

Students from ILK partner institutions may participate in Erasmus+ mobility at St. Ignatius of Loyola College in accordance with the Erasmus+ Programme requirements and the agreements between the sending and receiving institutions.

Students interested in studying at ILK under the Erasmus+ Programme should first contact the Erasmus+ or International Relations Coordinator at their home institution regarding nomination and eligibility.

Once nominated, students will receive further information from ILK regarding the application procedure, study opportunities and preparation for mobility.

STUDIES AT ILK

Incoming Erasmus+ students may study at St. Ignatius of Loyola College according to the study opportunities available to international students and the academic arrangements agreed in the Learning Agreement.

Before the mobility period, the student, the sending institution and St. Ignatius of Loyola College agree on the study programme to be completed during the mobility period through the Learning Agreement.

COURSE CATALOGUE

STUDY PROGRAMMES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Incoming Erasmus+ students are selected and nominated by their home institution.

Following the nomination, the sending institution communicates with ILK regarding the planned mobility. The study programme and other academic arrangements are agreed before the mobility period.

The Learning Agreement is prepared and approved in accordance with the Erasmus+ Programme requirements by the parties involved in the mobility.

Students receive the necessary information and guidance regarding their mobility from the Erasmus+ coordinators of their sending institution and ILK.

For questions regarding incoming Erasmus+ mobility at ILK, students may contact the ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator.

ECTS and Recognition

St. Ignatius of Loyola College uses the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

The courses to be completed during the Erasmus+ mobility period are agreed in the Learning Agreement before the mobility begins.

After successful completion of the agreed study activities, the academic results and ECTS credits obtained during the mobility are documented in accordance with the Erasmus+ Programme requirements and the academic procedures of the institutions involved.

St. Ignatius of Loyola College offers accommodation in a student dormitory. As the number of available rooms is limited, accommodation cannot be guaranteed and is subject to availability.

Incoming students who wish to apply for accommodation are advised to contact the ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator as early as possible before their arrival.

If accommodation in the student dormitory is not available, students are advised to arrange alternative accommodation in advance. The ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator can provide general information regarding accommodation options upon request.

Visa and residence requirements depend on the student’s nationality, the duration of the mobility period and other individual circumstances.

Incoming students are responsible for ensuring that they meet the applicable entry and residence requirements before travelling to Lithuania.

Students who require guidance regarding visa or residence-related matters may contact the ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator.

Students are advised to consult the official Lithuanian authorities for the most up-to-date information on visa and residence requirements.

OFFICIAL MIGRATION INFORMATION IN LITHUANIA

Incoming Erasmus+ students must ensure that they have appropriate health insurance coverage for the entire period of their stay in Lithuania.

Students are responsible for checking what insurance coverage is applicable to their individual situation before arrival.

Students participating in traineeships should also check the applicable requirements concerning accident and liability insurance.

For general guidance regarding insurance and healthcare matters, incoming students may contact the ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator.

St. Ignatius of Loyola College provides incoming Erasmus+ students with academic and administrative support before and during their mobility period.

Students may contact the ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator regarding mobility documents, studies, the Learning Agreement and other Erasmus+ related matters.

Incoming students are encouraged to contact ILK whenever they need assistance in adapting to their studies or resolving mobility-related academic or administrative issues.

Incoming students who have disabilities, health-related conditions or other individual circumstances that may affect their participation in mobility are encouraged to inform ILK about their support needs as early as possible before arrival.

ILK will assess the student’s individual needs and, where possible, coordinate appropriate academic, organisational or other support during the mobility period.

Students who may require additional Erasmus+ financial support should contact the Erasmus+ Coordinator at their sending institution regarding the funding opportunities available to them.

Online Language Support (OLS)

Erasmus+ participants may use Online Language Support (OLS) tools to improve their language skills before and during their mobility period.

Students should contact their sending institution or Erasmus+ Coordinator for further information about access to Erasmus+ language support services.

Before arriving in Lithuania

Incoming students are encouraged to prepare for their stay in Lithuania well in advance.

Before arrival, students should make sure that their study arrangements, accommodation, insurance and, where applicable, visa or residence documents are in order.

Students should also inform the ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator about any individual circumstances or support needs that may require arrangements before arrival.

Living in Lithuania

Incoming students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with practical information about living in Lithuania, local transportation, healthcare, everyday services and other aspects of daily life before arrival.

Incoming students may contact the ILK Erasmus+ Coordinator if they need general guidance before or during their stay.
